What is FeelingsOut?
FeelingsOut is a paid peer listening platform in India. You book a private 30 or 60 minute conversation with a verified everyday listener who speaks your language, and you stay anonymous behind a nickname. It is peer emotional support, not therapy and not a crisis line.
- What it costs
- ₹114 for 30 minutes, ₹171 for 60 minutes, paid per conversation. No subscription.
- Who listens
- Everyday people, not clinicians. Each applies with a live selfie and a short video, is approved by a person on our team, and follows a code of conduct.
- Languages
- English, Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati.
- How private it is
- The listener sees only your nickname. Nothing is recorded, and your name, number and email are never shared.
- How soon
- Minutes if a listener is online, or book a slot in the next 7 days.
- What it is not
- Not therapy, and not for emergencies. In crisis, call Tele MANAS on 14416, free and 24x7. How this differs from therapy.
You decide what a listener gets to know
By default, almost nothing. Everything beyond a nickname is optional, and it stays that way for the whole conversation.
- They see a nickname, not you. Your name, phone number and email are never shared with a listener. Listeners are trained not to ask.
- Camera stays off unless you turn it on. Every conversation starts voice only. Show your face only if you want to, or never.
- Share more only if you choose to. Your city, your job, your real name. Say as much or as little as feels right, and change your mind any time.
Start with what is on your mind
Or pick a topic
From heavy to lighter in three steps
Choose someone you could open up to
Filter by language, age, gender and the kind of thing you want to talk about. You see their first name and one line about them. They see a nickname you pick. That is it.
Talk in minutes, or pick a time
30 or 60 minutes, your choice. If your listener is online you can be talking before your tea gets cold. If not, book a slot that suits you. You pay for that one conversation and nothing more.
Say the whole thing
A private room opens in your browser. Nothing to install, no numbers exchanged, nothing recorded. Say what you have been carrying around. All of it.
Thirty minutes, minute by minute
There is no script. You can cry, ramble, go quiet, or start in the middle. But if you want to know what usually happens, it goes something like this.
Try it once- 0:00You join from your browser. Camera off if you want. Your listener is already there, waiting.
- 0:30They say hello and hand you the wheel. Silence is fine. So is starting with the thing that happened this morning.
- 6:00You have said it. The thing you have not told anyone. Nothing dramatic happens. They are just still there.
- 15:00One gentle question. Not advice, not a lecture. Just something that helps you hear yourself think.
- 30:00You hang up lighter. Same life, same problems, a bit more room to breathe. Rate them if you like, then go on with your day.
What people said after their first conversation
Shared with us by the first people who tried it. Names left out, spelling tidied, nothing else changed.
This was really the need of the hour for me.
My heavy heart has been lighter after sharing my heart out to a stranger I did not even know.
Never thought something like this would make me calm and reduce stress.
Where this fits in your life
Friends are great until they are part of the story. Therapy is great until it is ₹2,000 a session and a two week wait. This sits in the gap between the two.

Things people ask before they try it
Is this therapy?
No, and we do not pretend otherwise. Listeners are everyday people who have been trained to listen well. They are not psychologists and they will not diagnose or treat anything. If a listener thinks you would be better served by a professional, they will tell you kindly and point you to one.
Who are the listeners?
A product designer in Hyderabad. A startup founder in Bangalore who has been through a rough year. A working mother who remembers what it felt like to have nobody to talk to. Every one of them applied with a live selfie and a short video, signed our code of conduct, and was approved by a person, not a bot. You can see their rating and how many conversations they have had.
Can anyone find out who I am?
No. You sign in with Google so nobody can hijack your account, but the listener only ever sees the nickname you type. Phone numbers and emails are never shared. The conversation happens in a private browser room and is not recorded by anyone.
Do I have to show my face or give my real details?
No. Your camera is off when the conversation starts and stays off unless you switch it on yourself. A listener never asks for your real name, your job or your city, and sharing more is your choice alone. When you first sign in we ask once for your name, age, city and a quick selfie, purely to keep fake accounts out. Those stay private with our team and are never shown to a listener.
What if the listener does not show up?
You get every rupee back, automatically, without asking. Then you can book someone else. If a conversation goes badly, report it from your dashboard and a human reads it the same day.
Do I need to install anything?
Nothing. It opens in the browser on any phone or laptop. Tap allow when it asks for your microphone. Earphones make it feel more private.
What if I am in crisis?
Please do not wait for us. Call Tele MANAS on 14416. It is free, open 24 hours, and available in most Indian languages. In an emergency call 112. FeelingsOut is not built for emergencies and we would rather you got the right help fast.
Are you the one your friends call at 2am?
Then you already have the only qualification we ask for. Listen from home, on hours you choose, in the language you think in. Six hours a day adds up to around ₹15,600 a month. Five hours, closer to ₹13,000.
